Glossary
A robot arm is a type of robot consisting of parts linked together in the same way as those of a human arm, mounted on a stand.
Servo motor: It’s a control in terms of angular position, acceleration and velocity, capabilities that a normal motor doesn’t have. It makes use of a regular motor and pairs it with a sensor for position feedback.
Controllers: Controllers are the main machines that process the robotic arms and play a role as the brain. They can either act automatically as programmed or allow for manual operation by outputting instructions straightforwardly from a technician.
Arms: The arm is the main section of the robotic arm and consists of three parts: the shoulder, elbow and wrist. These are all joints, with the shoulder resting at the base of the arm, usually connected to the controller, and it can move forward, backward or spin.
End Effector: The end effector play a role as the hand of the robotic arm. It is usually composed of two claws(can sometimes be three), that can open or close on command.
Sensor: Sensor is what allows the robotic arm to sense their environment and react accordingly.
